Tony has three decades of franchising experience, a third of which has been gained in the North West as the Manchester-based owner of            FDS-Northern. His previous experience includes the implementation of a national Franchise network for a major shoe retailer, and establishing a blue-chip retailer in the Middle East. An Affiliate of the British Franchise Association, Tony regularly speaks on franchising issues at regional events, and writes a regular column in the Franchise Magazine.

Eddie Mulqueen

Director, North East England

Eddie has worked in franchising for almost 20 years, serving as Franchise and Operations Manager for a large UK parcels carrier, and as Franchise Director for a major electrical goods recycler. In his last role, he worked closely with FDS-Northern on the development of the franchise system and the recruitment of the first franchisees. Eddie joined Franchise Development Services in 2005 to help new and established franchises in the North East of England.

Patrick Bowley

Accounts Executive / FranMatch Executive

With experience running a website design and print firm serving clients across the UK as well a popular technical support service, Patrick has a valued technical and customer service expertise. Since joining FDS-Northern in early 2006, he has set-up Fran-Link, the consultancy’s franchisee recruitment programme for franchisors, a service which he currently manages. Patrick also handles enquiries for advertising and consultancy services, and manages all advertising accounts. Patrick holds a degree in Multimedia Communications Design.

Joshua Scherzer and Charlotte Urwin

Manual Writers, Researchers & Editors

Working alongside the consultants, Joshua and Charlotte provide vital services in the preparation of Franchise Operations Manuals, Brochures, Reports and associated paperwork. Joshua has 11 years’ experience as a writer and researcher at the North American headquarters of an international franchisor and has helped three multinational corporations to improve their business communications. Charlotte has written for a national business publication and has post-graduate management and marketing qualifications.

Edna Urwin

Office Co-ordinator

Based at the Manchester office, Edna manages the administration team at both the Manchester and Newcastle offices. Edna serves as an invaluable liaison between all team members working in the Northern UK.

Charles Sindall

Franchise Recruitment Manager

Charles has worked in the franchise industry since the 1980s, and has recruited many successful franchisees. He brings this wealth of experience to his role, managing the FranMatch recruitment service for franchise owners.
